    Help! Chevy gearbox.....

    This is for Rob....

    Which way does he turn the adjuster on the autobox to make it a sharper shift?

    Hope this makes sense to someone

    sounds like one for mr,frost[redvictor] do ya know what box it is,
    has it got aftermarket modulator,?

    Its 350 engine and box in a 65 c10 pick up and i am told it could be from a 72 but i havn't checked the ID yet. The valve with the rubber tube is on the rjght side as you sit in it, sorry not much to go on.Cheers Rob

    Just checked, the gearbox id is cd 68 163208

    yep that sounds like the modulator valve allright, if its adjustable it requires removing the vacuum pipe and inserting the supplied alan key into the exposed hole, turn one way or the other and see which way gives the effect your looking for, sorry to be a bit vague, but its been a while since i messed with auto trans,might pay to give andy frost a shout, he,s a g/box specialist.

    A bit late for him to start doing that right now but thanks for the advice, will tell him when he gets back from the garage. If I tell him now he won't be back till 3am!

    The modulator is at the back of the trans on a TH350 so it might not be a 350.. To adjust modulators turn in for higher,harder shifts,out for earlier,softer shifts. It's usually a screwdriver slot also.

    Do the same principles apply on a BW65 If so is it ok to give you a quick bell at work tomorrow.

    Thanks guys , spot on ,found it but it was on the side , turned the screw,will find out the results tomorrow on the way to hemsby.
    The problem was a long change clutch slip,hoping this will work.
