    Henry Hirise, early build photos

I'm posting these on behalf of Keith as he's without a computer at the minute, he finally found them after having a post Christmas clear up. There's a few gaps as he isn't really one for taking photos. Keith's the one with the shiney hair cut, the other bloke's Terry Barrow.
This is pretty much how he got it, it's still on its original Consul floorpan, or what was left of it!

In this one you can cleary see the care that one of the previous owners took in removing the bulkhead.

The rear end was held in with a bit or rope, which was nice.

Sorry this one's a bit dark, there wasn't a lot of light in there, let alone space. Here it's had the floor cut & the rest of the bulkhead ready for the a chassis to be built.

There's a big jump forward, here's the rolling chassis using the original rear axle, ladder bars, front axle/suspension. The engines a Ford 390FE, chosen because it'd had one in it when Doug Ripley owned it. The rocker cover were once fitted to Bill Carters Hillbilly Express.

    A front end shot.

This is it finally rolling. This is where Keiths extensive photo archive ends, he has no photos of the new floor being made, seats fitted, 'glass bonnet being added etc.

How'd the weekend go? Well, at the moment it looks like a dolphin that's been caught in a boats propeller.

That was never going to help in your search Vince, Keith lives in Barnehurst!
The first time Keiths Dad saw it he asked "What the **** have you bought that for, it's rotten"

Keith; "But it's Henry Hirise Dad"

Dad; "I don't care what it's called, it's ****ed. Buy another Consul, swap the stuff over & stick the number plate on it, no one will know".

A friend of mine bought the car off Doug Ripley some years back, the car didn't look to bad at the time, I remember going round my house to go for a ride, he started to back out of the garage & the n/s half shaft snapped in half ? after a couple of weeks he managed to get it repaired and i went for a ride, it drove like an animal, all over the place...he kept the car for around a month, and decided to get rid...without offering the car to me

I have always been a fan of this car, takes me back to Knebworth days, when Henry was racing Ford Fever up by Knebworth house.

It will a great occasion for us old timers to see the car in it's former glory back on the sreets again.

Keep up the good work Bigjob
The car is open, the keys are under the dog !
