Think myself that if its origins are in the US then it should be left hooker, UK then right.

Leading on then, take a 'top' car over here, say a '32/'34 thats been built as a right hooker, how much of a financial hit would be involved?

First you have to figure out what it would sell for over here .Have a look at the For sales on the NSRA and see how many rods have sold over here recently and for what money . I think you'll find all the 'top end' rods have gone abroad recently but still for a fraction of their build price.

I think you'd have to say if you want more than £20k back then it would have to sell abroad. Even when the market was good I can only think of a few rods that sold for £25K while staying in this country.

They have trouble in Europe with stock old vehicles, cant imagine what it must be like to try and register a custom/rod!! I know that in Norway, modding is illegal unless it's the bodywork and can result in instant impounding. Sod living there!!!!

But surely toll booths, car parks and drive thru restaurants must be a right pain in the arse. Oh yes, overtaking too.[/QUOTE]

our nearest Burger king drive thru was built on a small plot with awkward access,
seems the only way they could get 2 drive thru lanes was to put one each side of the restaurant,
1 suits the rhd cars and 1 suits the lhd cars

You are dead right about the RH steering issue - starter motor, stering box & exhaust all fighting for the same space.
My Jago 32 is an English car so will stay RH drive.

We keep looking to the States and feeling hard done by in comparison .We should look to the rest of Europe and see how lucky we are ..currently. I've received some legislation info re the States and things are even getting tighter over there
