Lets see those Jaguar Rear Axles:

Just sitting around reminiscing, back in the day the must have thing to have in your custom/rod was a Jaguar independent rear axle. This was right up there with having a V8 motor if you really wanted to be on the cutting edge of the British Hot Rod scene. Here is a picture of mine now ,it took quite a while to get it to this stage ,it’s kind of old school in away but it still manages to turn a few heads.

ah yes that brings back memories, back in the day when i had my pop i remember starting the new year at Donny show and seeing Phil Marriots wild Oats pop being wheeled in with his addition over the winter, a stunning arrowed fully chromed jag axle that just looked oh so right under there.

    Sorry crappy pic found online

Jag diffs are still really popular here in New Zealand.
I have one in my '49 Lincoln Coupe Custom.
I am now installing one in my '35 Pontiac 3 window coupe.

Spoke to a couple of guys in the US and they say Jag IRS back axles are hard to come by. Possible export market for someone.

Yes here in Canada there are none available in wrecking yards. There used to be a company in the U.S. called Concourse Industries that could supply anything that you needed including complete rear ends with different options depending on your requirements and budget but they went out of business quite a few years ago.I shipped one here foe a friend when I was on vacation in England years ago.I paid £100 for it which was a lot but I didn’t have time to shop around ,still not a bad deal.I stripped everything off it that was not usable i.e.the cage ,tie bars, etc to reduce shipping costs ,drained the oil ,pressure washed it and had it strapped to a wooden pallet .He was going to install it in a 65 Mustang but he never did.I think he still has it!

I know they are not quite the same but can the Jag X300 rear ends not be used? There are lads of them about..
