Any of you that look in on the HAMB will be well aware that last weekend, Austin Texas was the place to be if traditionally inspired Hot Rods are your thing. Fans of this style of build came from near and far to be a part of this ever more popular meet, The Lone Star Roundup, and Austin, with it's "Keep Austin Weird" slogan makes the perfect backdrop for all that ensues.
Travis County Exposition center is the daytime location of the show. It is a large fairground facility perfectly suited for a show of this size. Full use of the four acres under roof was necessary when torrential down pours threatened to wipe out the Friday activities. But you can't dampen the spirits of hundreds of rodders that wait all year for this event. Just move the whole shooting match under cover, let the bands play, the minibike riders race, the vendors and swap meeters display their wares and the participants mingle and renew friedships, all while looking at the couple of hundred cars assembled there.
