Surely there will be allotted pit areas for race classes?. I.E. all of one class will be allowed to pit together.
If it's got tits or tyres, its gonna be trouble

That's always the case at the Hot Rod Drags.

Pit access will be for registered race teams, driver and crew, as well as registered RWYB participants. Camping in the camping fields will be controlled and camping in large groups will be a no no. At the moment I can't confirm whether the 'family camping' area at the top of the pits will be used, it means more manpower to monitor social distancing.
Full details of the covid restrictions and 'The New Normal' relating to camping are on the Santa Pod website at https://santapod.co.uk/coronavirus.php .

Of course that is assuming that the unfolding news today doesn't mean that things change drastically. I'll keep updating as I get more information.

Im booked in for the full weekend, going to be driving down from Teesside in the old hotrod on the friday, I have booked in for RWYB for saturday does this mean I will be camping over near the pits, I have my dad coming with me in another vehicle with the caravan and tools on I am assuming he too will have access to the pits etc ? sorry if it seems a daft question I normally run at York/Melbourne. Ive been going to the pod since I was a kid I am used to goiong for a stroll around the pits its going to be all a bit strange with these new rules

    Hi All,

Not sure if you’ve seen this yet. Another update from Santa Pod Raceway.

Pass the message on to anyone and everyone please.

    Thanks,

    Alan.

▪️ The Group of Six rules apply to all visitor accessible areas - Spectator Grandstand and Spectator Banking,
Bar/Catering areas, Pod Pub Garden, Café/Shop and Show & Shine area.
    ▪ A distance of 1 metre must be maintained between you and any other person not from the same household as you.

The maximum number of people (including children) allowed on a camping pitch is six, no exceptions. This is a legal
requirement; Santa Pod Raceway must enforce this or we will fall foul of the Local Authority. Do not expect to camp in
groups larger than six, it will not be allowed - NO EXCEPTIONS!

    ▪ If all members of the group are from the same household, no further restrictions within the group apply.
▪If the group of six is made up from multiple households then social distancing rules of 1 metre must apply
between the households within the group of six.
    ▪ Your camping pitch will be set out accordingly.
    ▪ Individuals from different households may not share a tent or caravan/motorhome.
    ▪ Please listen to the campsite marshals and be patient, placement may take a little longer due to these new rules.

The ‘New Normal’ at Santa Pod

Please take the time to read up on our NEW Covid regulated campsite and venue rules and familiarize yourself with them ahead of your visit to make your stay as enjoyable as possible for yourselves and those around you.

The GRANDSTANDS will be open with a one-way system in place to allow for social distancing. Please pay attention to markers, signage and stewards which will be clearly visible to help you navigate your way to a seat. Hand Sanitising stations will be available at the entrances to the grandstands.
A One-Way system is also in place for accessing the SPECTATOR BANK – please adhere to all signage and take any instruction given by our stewards and security.
We ask you refrain from standing or sitting on the pathway that runs across the top of the bank to allow for social distancing and clear access.
The RACE PADDOCK remains open for the public to walk around however, please DO NOT enter any pit bays and maintain social distancing from racers, crew and other visitors.
We are delighted to inform you that SHOWER facilities will be available – these will be open with increased cleaning regimes in place. Please be mindful of all signage in place and take any instruction from the Hygiene Team. (Not open on Thursday for Early Arrival.)
If you have any campsite concerns during your stay then please contact any nearby steward/member of security OR call the Security Team on 07795672170.

The latest information I had was that the opening hours are going to be rigorously enforced. Most of the restrictions are in place to satisfy the council and ensure that not only the Hot Rod Drags, but all upcoming events are able to continue as planned.
