    Mig & Generator question.

    I have a 200Amp Mig on single phase (240V)

May be moving from my workshop to a garage without power.

Thinking of running it on a genny, so what sort of genny output should I be looking for?

    Cheers

Seriously though, a 200A Mig will require a 30A supply @240v thats around 6.5kW, biggest diesel generator that Machine mart do is 6 and costs £2700 inc vat

Pete, this is the sort of thing that you need; I think,

Clarke WH215 Petrol Driven Welder Generator - Machine Mart

A normal style generator won't keep up with a welder, because it needs the power in an instant.
