starting project, bit of advise needed

i am gathering bobs and bits to start on my lightweight, guzzi powered T-roadster. got opel rear axle, going to fab IFS with opel hubs. the motor has 80-ish HP when done.
my question for now is, what box section to use for the frame?
    2x3 or 2x4 and what wall thickness 2 0r 3mm?
    thank you
    Pascal

    Hoi Pascal ... gaat 't?? ...

Just do it ... you know what a Guzzi can do so work it out in 20x20x3 ... Pity I'm not in Limburg or I'd take the time to drop in and play for a while .... What ya using??? 1200 ? 800 ? ...
Is that the old Opus you picked up 6 months ago ????

If I had a Guzzi I'd consider rewriting the book on a 3-wheeled Lomax

Dutch ... Guzzi ... starting new projects ... gotta be you mate ...

planning on using 850T3 box, LM2 motor with convert cilinders. gearbox will get reverse gear conversion, wich is pretty easy to make. rear is from 1600 opel manta wich should have the proper ratio. front will be double wishbone with opel kadett c hubs. thats all sorted. for the spaceframe chassis, think i want to keep it bit more simple and go the more traditional way of "stock" ish frame. still in doubt of T-bucket or roadster body, but i have bit cracked but repairable 27 roadster body here. (hooray, i can make more room for feet cause of smaller engine )
bet ill beat the weight limit and have the easy RDW route

PS you are doing pretty damn good job in realising my ideas of dutch registration. V-rod Trib

    Whddya mean 'your ideas' ????

Time to step back and think about what you just said there ... your original post on the volksrods forum was well later, and in response to, my starting a build ... now I'm still ready to put that little error in the past .... or would you like me to post a link to some of 'your' other 'original' ideas ?

A certain Honda bobber springs to mind ....

Don't let's go there ... eh ???? Just start building something so we can all see where you're at ... I'm sure a few other people would be ready to drop by and get involved if the idea works ... I know at least 5 or 6 who drop into my place regularly and are always ready to get involved in a good project ... If it looks like coming along I could even drop a word in the ear of Dr. Horsepower from Mokrieger ... he's always open to an exciting engine project if the bullsh doesn't drown the horsepower ...

BTW - how did you like your wife's birthday present ???

Pascal, if it was my build, I would go for the small section spaceframe design, you could always plate over the 'space' where the exposed areas are, like the side rails etc...

    Fueled by Jim and Luckies.
Still doing all the shit I used to ;-)
