    It's the other way Trev, I need to reduce them down otherwise the carb holes need opening up .It's a bit difficult to explain but I'm using an adapter the other way round ( and upside down ).

    drill 10mm thread and tap it 1mm thickness is getting thin but at £7.56 worth a try!

    ford used them on gearbox mountings kev, earlier fiestas and fwd escorts. they just replaced some of the m10 bolts that held the 2 halves of the box together with ones that has an 8mm stud sticking out of the head of the bolt that the mounting bracket then bolted to.

    Have you tried Namrick Nut and Bolt store? On line and in Hove, Sussex. Always helpful guys and girls in there.

    Looks like used on lambretta's and VW aircooled engines but couldnt see any in UK but might be worth ringing a VW specialist.
    If it don't fit, make it adjustable!!!
