I've discovered that lots of people on here like woodies....so I've started a thread, mainly 'unusual' or 'odd' woodies...........please feel free to add to it. In fact PLEASE add to it. (Oh, and just because I've put it on here doesn't mean I like it!!)

Resurrection Chariot, a "woody wagon hot rod" based on a Datsun 1600 roadster chassis. "Mags, radials, spare engine, trans and many other parts," the seller wrote. "I have driven it about 10,000 miles since I built it. Good potential for advertising your business. Will trade up or down for Jaguar Mk V engine or parts car." The Glen Ellyn, Illinois, seller wanted $1,500 for the Chariot. Let's just hope it didn't become a Chariot of Fire (*groans*).

Hopefully I don't have any duplicates of previous entries here.

Since Woodies appear to be an evolution of the more elitist Shooting Brake I thought it made sense to drop a few of the latter in with this post.

Hispano Suiza

1933 3 1/2 Litre Derby Bentley Shooting Brake Park-Ward (so the picture tells me)

1929 Rolls Royce

Lea Francis

1948 AC

I'm not sure what these are, but they're pretty. Possibly 1940s Ford or Chevy?

1956 Cadillac Viewmasters

Finally, Healey Woodie before...

... nearly finished...

... and the example they were using for the woodwork. It's a strange looking thing but I quite like it for it.

The site the Healey pics cam from is here: Classic Car Restorations, specialsts in MG, Triumph, Rolls Royce and Bentley restorations, service and repair - Classic Restorations (Sales) Ltd

The Healey was debued at the Woodie Car Club's barbeque in Oxfordshire in July.Owned by Warren Kennedy.
The Schlumpf Museum had 420 cars on display when we were there in August,+ another dozen or so in the workshops!
We spent 5hrs looking around,if you ever go make sure you ask to look around the workshops which are normally closed to the public, but are open 'by appointment' at lunch time.

Back to cold and rainy England......I will post some pics of Wavecrest over the next few days. ANYONE with any interest in Woodies should go. Not just for the cars, but for the excellent time to be had. It was very much like an old time rod run with a party atmosphere until the hotel told us to stop singing as there were complaints from other guests that we were singing too loud!!!

Hello Dave. We've got lots of members without cars so that's no probom and the club has no problem...in fact encourages.... 'rodders' to join. I think the more rodders we have, the better the club will be!! pm me your e-mail address and I'll send you the form. It's £17 pounds a year.
