    Your daily ?

Following on from the PT Cruiser thread , what is your daily and why ?

Euro style with flair , or piece of crap so you can put the money into your project ?

We've just sold Marians daily, a G plate DOHC Sapphire with only 60K on it, really wanted an estate Granada or Sierra ,always buy them with a view to pulling engine and box later . The need for an estate became desperate so managed to find a Rover 416 auto tourer .We are on out 3rgs 416 in 6 years now ,Honda engine and trans so the cheapest Honda you'll ever buy Always as cheap as chips so the spare can go on the projects.

Mine is a 2001 Omega 2.6 Elite, got it for £100 and all that was wrong with it was the cam timing was out, we thought it had bent some valves thats why the chap sold it! the problem with the engine happened on the way back from him fitting 2 new front tyres at a cost of £200!! the front grill and bumper is worth about £400 second hand! lol

Cant see the point in wasting money on a new car, I run a 95 4.6 P38 Rangie with LPG. Bought for £2.5k a couple of years ago - it will tow our large twin axle caravan & get into the woods to unload the enduro bikes into the mud.

Before that, had a number of Audis- A6 2.8 Avant quattros & an A8 4.2q sport (A8 best car I ever owned but the engine was about to crack its block so got rid toa dealer) - A6's always estates - solid quality, cant beat them.

Considered turning the A8 into an estate before it went....

Worst car was a 1.3 Maestro - what was I thinking of?

    Talking'Classic' S*baru Waggon

Got one last year to see what all the fuss was about.
Sold on the idea that recent imports aint as rusty etc.

My one's a rare!? auto with 'power' and 'snow' buttons.
Drinks fuel, but sounds great and goes like stink when I can afford to gas up.

Done a bit of maintenance myself and it all seems pretty agricultural engineeringwise - apart from electrickery.

I said we'd never buy into the 'Metallic Minibus' scam but have to admit at looking as Estima / Lucida type stuff recently before we found the 416.
