My old man had the L36 (i think) with a rated 390hp. More like 300bhp. He's sorted that out by replacing the engine with 530hp.

As for the L88, I imagine it would be a bit of pig to drive for most normal people. A mag did test one at the time and they were getting 11's I think. Wonder how it priced up compared to the 435 rated one.

Great detective work Nick. That article you posted on the 57 was written by Mike Collins. Was that the same Mike Collins who was at movienite?

Just had another look and I'm not so sure it is a T70 , maybe a Mclaren Elva but the exhausts are throwing me a bit , I expect Roger will be able to tell us .

I'd never seen or heard of that 57 before , wonder if it might have belonged to a US Serviceman posted here

Trying to make out what that is in the Gordon Keeble picture with the Mk1 Cortina back lights , nice reg on it BELL 13 ELL

    Cheers,
    Ron
Sorry to be late Ron what a brilliant thread, it's not a T70, as someone else has said a Mclaren M8 or similar. The exhaust is a bit wierd but if it's anything like a T70 (and they were very like T70s) the exhust burns the back bodywork unless they are moving.
More importantly what a thread, I have never seen or heard of this '57 before and with 427, wow!!!
    Rog.
