ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS?
Extra Production?
A book called "The Peoples Almanac" published in 1975 has an article in it titled "Everybody’s '57 Chevy".... That professes knowledge that around 200,000 “extra” 1957 Chevrolet 2 Door Bel-Air Models were produced in Jacksonville IL during a period encompassing 1957 through 1967 by Ardel Malowick. Malowick was supposedly a former GM stylist that was part of the ’57 Chevy design team that went out on his own and accomplished this seemingly impossible improbable feat.

BLOWN UP
It happened about the time Metcalfe had become president of the local NAACP.
In late August 1965, at about noon, Metcalfe crossed the parking lot at Armstrong Tire, got in his 1955 Chevrolet and turned the ignition switch. Instantly, an explosion shattered the calm. He suffered broken limbs, facial lacerations and burns. Pieces of skin were torn from his body and his right eye was damaged. The Jacksons had nursed Metcalfe back to health and he was able to go back to work at Armstrong a year later. No one was ever charged.

Gladys Zender of Peru, became MISS UNIVERSE 1957.
One of her prizes was a 1957 Chevrolet automobile valued at $3,700.00. She told me, a few years ago, that she had sold it years ago to get a newer model automobile and that it is now a taxi in Lima.

The Ghost Car In Bostic North Carolina
In 1961 three young men were killed when the driver lost control of his car and the car flipped over while he was running from a highway patrol car that had pursued him for several miles. The car was a beautiful red 1957 Chevrolet and it was destroyed in the crash. The three teenage boys were killed instantly. Later the NC Highway Patrol said the car was going 130 miles per hour when the boy who was driving lost control of the car and it flipped over and over.
Now that was a great tragedy and a really sad even but a few days later people started reporting seeing a 1957 red Chevrolet driving down the Bostic highway towards Bostic and it would always vanish when it would reach the point where the tragic accident happened.
Even today people report seeing the ghost car.
