    1956 Dodge C3-B V8 Stepside Pickup Truck

Putting my Dodge up for sale as work and family life keep leaving me short of time to work on it!

Lots of work done since purchase, truck runs well and drives, brakes are good, electrics all new, brand new smooth steel wheels and whitewall radial tyres, solid chassis and bodywork. Paintwork is poor. Very close to being usable but does need further work. Various new and used parts will be supplied with truck including the old wheels and tyres.

    Price: £8500
    Location: Selby, North Yorkshire

    Detailed description below...

    TRUCK DETAILS
    1956 Dodge C3-B8
    1/2 ton Stepside pickup truck
    C-Series "Job-Rated"
    116" wheelbase
    Big back window
241ci Polyspherical V8 (same block as early Hemi but different heads)
    3-speed manual column shift

    DVLA registered (with V5 document)
    Tax exempt (currently on SORN)
    MOT exempt
Owned since 2016, purchased from Rock 'n' Roll Motors.

    ENGINE
Starts, runs well, good oil pressure
    New water pump
    New thermostat
    New fan belt
    New spark plugs
Fresh 20W/50 High zinc (ZDDP) oil
    New oil filter
New flexible oil lines to/from remote oil filter
    Fresh coolant

    CHASSIS
    Solid condition (needs painting)
    New rear shocks
Rear axle flushed and refilled with new gear oil

    BODYWORK
    Solid sheet metal
    Rough paintwork
New windscreen and rear window rubber seals
New Plexiglass side windows and quarterlights
    Window winder mechanisms both working
Original "DODGE" and "Job-Rated" badges included - these are hard to find and horribly expensive! (badges not fitted, will be supplied in the boxes of parts)
Good wooden bed (new in 2017)
    Good vinyl bench seat
    New pressed aluminium number plates
    Chrome door mirrors

    BRAKES
New rear drums, shoes and cylinders
New copper lines and rear flexi
Rebuilt master cylinder with new seal
Recently flushed, filled with new DOT4 fluid and bled

    WHEELS AND TYRES
New "Smoothie" steel wheels, powder coated in cream and with chrome hub caps
    New Vitour whitewall radial tyres

    ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
    Fully rewired
    New fuse box
    New regulator
    Dynamo fully working
New UK headlamp units (with integral sidelight)
    New stop/tail/indicator lamp units
Original sidelight housings repurposed as front indicators
New fog and reverse lamps fitted
    New twin-tone horn and relay
    Original steering-wheel-mounted horn push repaired
New indicator/hazard, fog light and reverse light switches
Dashboard gauges refurbed and all working (fuel gauge fine when tested but no sender fitted to fuel tank)
Original 12V wipers fully working (new wiper rubbers fitted)
    Good battery

    FAULTS AND DEFECTS
Paintwork very rough. Truck was hastily resprayed in a very amateur fashion a few years ago, cellulose paint has begun to flake and there are small areas of surface rust in places. NO major rot though!
Radiator has slow leak from joint between top tank and core. Temporary repair using JB WaterWeld has slowed the leak but not stopped it entirely.
    Small oil leak from transmission
Steering box working OK, but worm gear appears to have some damage to its thread. Likely to need replacement, upgrade to power steering might be wise as it's unassisted and quite heavy
    No door cards or headlining
No fuel level sender fitted to fuel tank
