SOLD! 1958 Chevrolet Apache panel van, UK reg and on the road

Uodate 18-07-13 Now sold via Ebay, but I think the guy is on here as well, one of the best buyers I've had the pleasure to deal with!

I decided to start a new thread for this as I have now got it on the road and have some better pics.
Standard 235 cu in straight six, runs like a sewing machine, 3 on the tree manual transmission, runs and rives great. Brake system overhauled, all brakes work very well. Front wheel bearings cleaned and checked, no rough bits on them, new master cylinder, new rear cylinders, some new brake pipes, engine oil flushed and changed and a few other jobs done incl fitting the back door windows with new seals and a pair of Volvo leather seats as the ones it came with were pants. I fitted a set of tyres bought used on this site, fronts are as brand new, rears will be good for a while. All lights work, but headlights should be changed to UK left dipping ones. Horn, wipers, heater and speedo don't work. Edit:::: got the vacuum wipers working and fitted new blades today 27th May. Gauges work except fuel gauge which jumps to "full" (I wish!!) when the ignition is turned on. Edit, the fule gauge DOES work, it WAS in fact full!!Original floor start button works well. A good solid old van which can be driven and improved as you go along. Check the cool Pontiac Indian head ornament which lights up with sidelights.
Price is £7500 on the road with UK reg and free tax disc, MOT exempt.

P.S. IGNORE THE 410 YUS PLATES, IT IS REGISTERED AS 409 YUS. When the paperwork for both came through, both tax discs just said "Chevrolet" and I needed to get the vans to an event before the V5s came through. I had assumed the '48 would be 409 and the '58 410, so I fitted the plates. When the V5s came through, I saw that they were wrong so fitted the correct plates. Later pics will show the van with 409 YUS on them

it's a decent old thing mate, I just put new anti roll bar drop links on it today, so that's another wee job covered.

The white '70 Econoline is also on the road with UK MOT and free road tax, 6 cylinder, 3 speed manual, runs and drives very well, a bit of play in the steering box, good tyres, paintwork is not brilliant, has crazing, but is very presentable. It is the same price £7500. I can e-mail pics if you send me your e-mail address. I will be listing it on here maybe tomorrow.
    Cheers,
    Jim
