Change of Heart
Buick Riviera Lowrider
Around three years ago I was in touch with Tim, a previous owner's son, who was trying to find out any info regarding the fate of his dad's old Riviera. He seemed to think that it may have had a sad demise as "it had been badly vandalized, stripped and was rotted badly. I am pretty sure it was bought for breaking by some bloke in Cambridgeshire."
To add to this, the DVLA vehicle enquiry service brought up a blank. But... "the registration JFD 45D, when we owned it the registration wasnt recognized even back then. I am not sure of the details exactly as I was just a boy then but I know that that registration came up as belonging to an agricultural tractor when we applied for the logbook, the car was "officially" stolen before we had it and therefore the registration may of lapsed and been assigned to the said tractor."
Another glimmer of hope was that an NSRA member seemed to recall it going to a different country but couldn't recall which one.
I still have Tim's e-mail address to forward on any up to date news. If anyone has any information regarding this beautiful old lowrider it would be much appreciated.
Here's a few pics of the car when it was featured in Custom Car...
