First off my apologies to Simon for my inappropriate first post. I can see how much work he's put into Rods 'n' Sods and my apologies for adding to it.
I have a 1973 Dodge Challenger 340 Rallye which I've owned for 11 years. Last year it underwent an engine rebuild and freshen up under the hood. I took the opportunity to start returning it closer to stock, so all the after market performance mods I've made over the years were replaced with stock items, there's still some left to do. Yesterday was the first time it moved under it's own power for nearly two years as personal factors have prevented me from getting it finished sooner. So hopefully this week will see it getting an MOT.
I also owned a 1968 Plymouth Sport Satellite street/strip car which I sold a couple of years ago to finance another Mopar project I have. The best quarter mile ET I managed in the Satellite before selling it was 13.0 dead but I had a lot of fun with it and learnt quite a bit.
The Challenger is full weight/trim and the best times in that were low 14s. It's going to be interesting to see what it will manage with the stock iron inlet and headers that are on it now but with the rebuilt engine. It turned out that the low 14s were with a split in the head gasket on cylinder 1 (50 psi) and a burnt exhaust valve on cylinder 3 (0-15 psi)!
Over the past few years I was the administrator on the MMA messageboard and served on the committee along with Ivor and the rest of the committee but unfortunately earlier in the year, a change in personal circumstances meant I couldn't commit the time neccessary to continue with this.
Anyway, it's great to finally find some time and say hello on such an active MB as RnS!
