    Today I measured the endfloat on the crank in a Rover V8 I'm building. It's 0.010" which is too much - it's supposed to be 0.004" to 0.008". I positioned a dial guage on the snout of the crank and levered the crank forwards and then backwards. The dial swept out 0.010" from being pushed forwards...

    I am wondering which top I should use on the float chamber on my 1 1/4" SU. I have two. One has the overflow going to a outlet pipe, which I think would then have to go back to the fuel tank, and the other one I have has an inlet and the overflow just comes out the top. Which one is better...
