i seam to think Gino Bernadine with his turbo yellow mk1 Escort used to run in the four pot challenge (he still races now with a wild red Escort in pro ET) i guess its the same car.
I seam to remember a Triumph sprint in the class aswell

Great to see the '57 Ford of Jim Whelan, I used to crew on that car when it was Dave Gradys High Spirits, long time ago now though!

Hi harris66,

I have got loads of pictures from that time (proper photgraphs) just need to work out how to get them on to the computer (scanner maybe ?)

Jeff Mannis pied Piper is for sale at the moment belongs to Pete in Buntingford (good friend of Richard "Great68" on this forum).

Here are a couple of extracts from Santa Pod programmes for 1990

I used to race as # 51 back in those days.

There are many others, Nigel Speed, Kurt Hinchcliffe, Gordon Appleton, Tim Adam, Steve Pateman, Ian ?? (Banzai Cobra), Steve Green, to name just a few.

I will try and put some more stuff up later, but i am not a real techno wizzard so takes a long time to get it somewhere near right.

Cheers.

Russ.

heres one..helping to dry the strip out at north weald

as you proberly no the car was white when first out
Thanks for that - yes is was white, and originally a mini cab. Bob's rationale behind the Cavalier as I remember was that he calculated that loosing several hundred pounds in weight by transferring small block engine combo over out of his Z28 was worth an equivalent of 100 hp or so - history kinda proved him right I guess! didn't he get in to 10's with gas?

Hi sjb,

I thought it was Ian Merryweather but to be honest wasnt sure how to spell his name and didnt want to look like a :wanker: so thought the ??? would be a safer bet.

Cheers.

Russ.

Steve Richardson from Durham city ran the blue and white Marina in the Rover V8 challenge. It was an exworks BL rally car [fully seam welded shell].
Steve a great guy who I knew well took on a job down south to earn more cash to fuel his dragracing habit. Tiredness on his the long drive home one friday evening ended his life prematurely. He will always be sadly missed.
Don't know what happened to the old Marina.

:D Here are a few pics of Race Cars that frequented York Raceway in the 80/90's
that I did the signwriting on - including Kenny Colemans 'Stampede'
....a time before stickers, when everything was done in real paint
and vinyl computers were a thing of the future !!

 ....I see you're on this site too, Ian !!!!
