There was a feature in Classic American on one of those (probably the same one) a few years ago. I think Fureguson also converted a MK4 zephyr around the same time.

Now that is seriously rare. Ferguson did indeed convert some Mk4 Zephyrs which the police used for a while. At least one of those survives and I believe it's in New Zealand. Oh and they did some Capris too, got a feeling Ford owns one still.

A little Googling brings up...

"2 four-wheel drive Mustang models ('65 and '69) were built by the english specialist Ferguson and tested by several car magazines. Reports appeared in the german car magazines and elsewhere. We have copies of these, but unfortunately yet no record, of what happened with those prototypes and possible other ordered converted cars. Any information appreciated.

Reports appeared in the german car magazines and elsewhere. We have copies of these, but unfortunately yet only one record, of what happened with the prototypes and possible other ordered converted cars. One of the 69ers was in 2002 discovered and restored by an english company called KAR KRAFT Mustangs. The white Mustang appeared in the english CAR Magazine.."

Wonder if this is the same one I saw about 15-18 years ago down a place called Kar Kraft

lol good one Al

I'm surprised Ford Motor Company haven't been trying to get this off the owner ... or perhaps they have .

Wonder where it languished from 1969/70 - 2002 :S

i will have a word with my mate phil, he worked for some people who developed the 4wd system for jensen, the bosses wife had a 4wd stag, they also made a capri and other 4wd cars like the mustang above, i will ask if it was his old company.

Thought exactly the same Ron. With the current price of early Mustangs, given the provenance, that car is potentially a serious retirement fund.

Only just read post 5 lol.

It must be the one I saw at Kar Kraft. The company was owned by a bloke called Miles. I went with my Dad (rosscobbc) when he bought a Fairlane GTA from the guy. The Mustang was there without the engine in but with the gearbox still in I think. I was only about 11 at the time, so my memory of the facts might be a bit shadey. Definitely have been early to mid 90's though.

Kar Kraft Mustang is now the Mustang Shop near Norwich airport -its still there, (went past some weeks ago) - the late owner of Kar Kraft, Miles showed us a 4x4 Mustang, which I seem to remember being a 428CJ that he was restoring or doing some work on when we were doing the deal on the '67 Fairlane 390 GTA we bought
