The wife's Micra has broken two new clutch cables in two weeks. Fagor ones from Euro parts. The outer cable has pulled through mounting at the bulkhead, but there is nothing to stop it apart from a bit of friction between the outer and the mounting rubber. Shite design.

She's looking to replace the 14year old car, but needs time to look around, so I had another make of cable fitted by our tame mechanic, as I was working the day after the last one went and she needed the car!!!! I want to have a back stop, simple to fit to get out of trouble, if it happens again!

I need a top hat machined in steel/ali...........

O/A length 22mm
Width of brim 32-35mm (not critical)
Brim thickness 2mm
Outer dia of 'tube' 17mm
Inner dia 14mm
Inner depth, from end face 20mm
Hole in top 4mm dia

Would be nice slotted through one side to get the inner cable through, but I can butcher that!

Can anyone do this for me, and what will be the cost, posted to Reigate?

Thanks in advance

Can you wait till Monday, should be able to do it then. So to be clear 14mm hole from one end 20mm deep and a 4 mm hole from the other end? Which end for the 4mm? Brim end or the other.

Other end mate! ('Cos there won't be material to cut if bored to 14mm dia.......... :) )

Yeah, 4mm centrally drilled through the top of the hat to take the cable.

Can you PM me a cost, posted, please?

Thanks for that, I can't get my phone to hook up to the pooter!

Should be posted tomorrow and get to you the day after. Royal mail permitting.
Sorry about the machining marks, too little time.
Hope it works out OK, if not let me know.
