I was lucky enought to live in georgia until I was 6 and again a few years ago. I lived near where Deliverance was filmed...which the locals DO NOT like to be reminded of...a real good way to get into a fight....just ask one big ole ******* if he was related to anyone in the film!!!!!!!! In fact, my elder bro and sister went to school there (Tallulah Falls).
Anyway, these are just a few of the 100's I took within 50 miles of my home....some things just have to be in black and white!!!!!

Fabulous pictures. As you say, some pictures have to be black and white.

Hi...I know Helen really well!!! An 'Alpine' village in the mountains!!! They built the town specifically for touristd...american tourists. They have Harley meets there....just imagine 1000's of Harleys parked all over the town. They also have an Octoberfest every year and German-Americans come from all over the States to drink from steins!! Your daughters must be up to their eyeballs in VWs!!
My family (Dad) came from a little south of that between Cornilia and Gainsville. When I went back, I lived in Commerce, a little further south again.
My wife and I really love Georgia and it is our aim to try and have 6 months of the year there and 6 months here......when we retire and 'might' be able to afford it!
There are cars EVERYWHERE out there and now, with the times being a little hard for the Americans, is the time to buy!
If you have never been befoer, you will love it. the natives are really friendly and just love the English accent. Going by yourself makes that even more interesting.......
