It would be good to get it to the 2012 nats, and yes the axle is spot on. The rear wheels are from a Chevy C10 pickup with 265's on. I was worried they would stick out but as you say, it all fits like a glove. Eventually I will hunt down some Cf fitting 8 spokes for the front too.

I found this going through some old photos........... I was used to tow a drag car in the seventies.

2.3 and auto....... it was a newish van in 75.

Always like the CF much better than the Transit,it at least would go round a corner....Used to be one about here "Tam Fae Kilmornock" (you need the Scottish accent to get the full effect) Gambler Van?? ( roulette wheel finish on the rear slots)

The DTV Rally Support Vans were the business performance and handling wise, 2.6 Blydenstein, ZF box, always good for a laugh as some clown tried to catch one with a MK2 escort

Was that not Kieth harvies van, from Southends Americar?
I bought my 1st set of portholes and swivel bases off him.

How about this one........

Looks like a longer clone Dave, perhaps they were proporgating, LOL

I can remember mike cason also having a lwb black cf, it appeared n hustler mag once, with naked birds in it.

Yeah, That's true. And he was none to pleased about it either. It was in a workshop getting the gearbox fixed and some porn mag did a photo shoot in it. I saw one of the pix and it showed the NSVA window sticker too! Oh, happy days.....He had a row of optics fitted in it as well, a real "hospitality" wagon. I expect the plod would have something to say about that sort of carry on today, eh?

Does anyone know the history of this, I took these about 10 or more years back.
Was this by chance, the one behind the conspiracy of George Smiffs Invader van dissapearing.

This van was built by Dick Utting on the south coast, Georges 'Invader' van seems to be long gone but George pops up on here now and again.
I saw him at the Kustom Kulture Blastoff in September, Geoff Ridgeway was there also.

Found a couple of OLD pictures, I agree with all the CF was, is, a better van than the Transit any day, but only when you replace the 4 for an 8, the first V8 swap I did was in 1972, 327 cu Chevy and 2speed power glide in Vantastic, problem was the 5.12 Bedford Dually rear end, fantastic 0 to 60 about 5secs but at 10 mpg No thanks. Replaced the rear end with 3.54 12 Bolt Chevy unit in 1973, Priceless.

Next one was not until 1975, this time Rover V8 then about 30 more swaps between 1976 and 1980
