I want to weld on these wings ,just for a cleaner look what's the best way to do that ?, either cut the flanges off and metal finish or bolt them on and lead load over the top?, rear wings and front panel also need doing , these is enough room to pick the engine straight out the top , Thanks in advance John

If it was my project i would prep back to bare steel on the top edges, bolt and align them and then tack weld along the length. Then i would lead fill over the top. This belt and braces gives the original strength and removes the requirement for the lead fill to hold the joint. Full welding will lead to distortion and extra work you might want to avoid.
