.......for the time when a hammer just won't do:incheek:

The not so joyous task of pulling (pushing?) the top and bottom balljoints out.

Need a kit sharpish, any recommendations? The halfords/machinemart kit just ain't quite man enough for the job!

ive always used sykes pickavant ball joint splitters and had no problems!
got mine from my local motorfactors :tup:

The pickle fork type are ok if you're fitting new ball joints but they can split the rubber if you're not careful . If you want to reuse them get one of the wind up scissor type .

Only thing is finding a wind - in type one big enough, went to the usual outlets and none come anywhere near (top is 50mm diam, bottom is 40mm). Just when I though I could have a week without spending MORE money :shake:

if you have 2 opposing joints (ie double wishbone front end) get a length of studding and a few nuts and force one against the other, hit housing with a hammer (not copper mallet) and it will pop apart.
