The rounded bottom corners where the doors meet show it was a sport sedan ("flat top" pillarless with a wrap around rear screen). The doors on these models were frame-less so its an easier job to turn into a convertible than a standard four door sedan. The B/C pillars are braced from the factory due to them only finishing half way up, meaning that extra bracing required after chopping the top wouldn't be as much as if it had been done to a sedan.
