when thinking about setting up the rear end of a strip car, what poundage, from experience would be best, i know this is a general question with lots of varyations but would a soft spring be better than a stiffer spring or vise versa?

for a lightweight brit car (the a40) im looking at about 110lb springs, any one got experience of similar things?

Were using a scimitar axle with the 4 links and the coilovers are verticle, no angle to them

To give the correct answer you would need total weight, and front to rear weight, but at a good guess i think your pretty close with 110lbs
When you say the shocks are verticle its better if they are slightly tilted forward as the axle runs in a arc,and the shocks need to be in the same arc.im assuming a simitar axle is a live rear end.

We are going with the 110lbs springs now. and we have stuck with the scimitars original brackets on the axle for the coilovers and 4 links so there is no adjustment really for tilting the coilovers forward. Yeah its a live axle. Thanks bud :D
