anyone know if fitting baffles like this makes much diff when fitted to lake style headers? the trumpets will only be fed by 2 pots per side being a V4!

Ian, v4s sound really strange and lumpy running without a balance pipe . I remember a mate fitted twin sidepipes to his Pop and split the 4-2-1 manifold on his 1600 Xflow so a pair of cylinders fed each pipe, sounded crap

If you want to run twin lake sstyle I'd try to incorporate a joiner pipe, maybe straight across teh back of teh engine ? To answer your original question, yes they do make a difference.

That looks like a Colgne style V4 ( didn't know they made one ? ) with only 1 exhaust port per side , unlike ours with 2 per side.

Did a bit of reserach and the Saab uses the Taunus V4 not our Essex V4. They did the Taunus V4 in a 1300 or a V6 in an 1800 !
