a mate thats got a body shop has come across this at least twice now,
on a 68 Camaro, and 68/69? Charger,
on the top of the door panel where the pull up door lock comes through,
(the type that looks like a golf tee)
on both these cars there's been an extra hole in the top of the door panel, each one about 8" apart, not just an extra drilled hole, the unused hole has the same chrome type trim in it as the lock rod hole,
anyone else come across this and if so whats the extra hole for?
think both cars had the correct door panels, not an earlier/later year.

Gary i'll bet one off those cars is Franks old 68 Camaro,?,we tried to fathom this question many times, intrestinly both lock holes in the door panel were mnfr/factory produced ,so they knew what they were for,(that car BTW was the 68 Paris motor show car )

60's European Fords had to have different lock arrangements for the USA market. Could this be a reversal of that ?

Maybe they were both 'friday afternoon cars' ??
Quick liquid lunch, then back to the line Joe !
Quite possible,
think i might have had a friday afternoon axle on mine,
right hand wheel used to always rub on the arch,
spring perches were 1/2" out!

Anyhow, if Larrys fixing it he only load it up with bondo :pmsl:

Another thought, could it be different positions for the lock depending on the type of seats ?
