Don't want to dampen your aspirations but sourcing hens teeth may be easier! Ford 427 engine was always a rare beast even back in the 60's - expect to pay a BIG premium for one of these. Why not consider building a 'period' 390 based engine - max bore, aftermarket stroker rotating assembly, perhaps some 'worked' iron heads or source some Blue Thunder items and you'll have a serious engine!

Hi there, thanks for that, I realise they are the rarest of hens teeth but just thought I would give it a try, customer wants a 427. He would buy a crate motor as they are available but he needs original casting numbers.
Many thanks for your reply and suggestions, I will keep looking and weighing up the alternatives.

Thanks

Clive

you find it quite expensive for original boss blocks as i found out try to locate a couple for my 70 boss cars most of them will need re sleeving or crack repaired, for motorsports make a new boss 302 block alot stronger than the original one Ford Racing M6010BOSS302 Ford Racing Engine Blocks
