Get calls on them all the time. Refer people to a main dealer as we dont know ANYONE that will touch them. Its the same with other makes of semis... Even main dealers are struggling with them and more often than not its a new gearbox. Only my experience, others may differ. I think the makers need a few more years to sort them out as they are becoming the norm for transmissions. Dual clutch, wet, dry; mechatronic units that run trans oil or their own system. May have guessed Im not a fan.

Over to the people who love them........................

Had a Passat with twin clutch dsg transmission - 90% of the time it was OK - 10% of the time it was really quirky. Almost undrivable on packed snow. Prior to that had one of the first of then new Honda Civics with single clutch robotised manual gearboxes. Again most of the time it was OK but 10% of the time it could kill you with the delay pulling out of roundabouts quickly. Reliable enough though.

The ford fusion with ASM transmission is essentually a normal 5 speed IB5 gearbox with motors and actuators attached to make it function like an auto. These are utter poop and I would avoid like the plague. The operation of them is pretty straight forward but they have to be taught clutch and shift learn values. If these values drift the vehicle will loose drive and may not even start.
