Any one done the valve settings on an essex v6 . Ive got a reliant scimitar in my Rod and want to do the tappets.
In the book it says 1 and 6 open adjust 10 and 7 but one opens or 6 opens but not together , so I checked 1 against 10 but the clearance is less than it should be ( the settings I have are 33 and fifty) I'm going on the essex clearances and not scimitar as I presume they are the same.

Did mine couple of weeks ago and all fine as the book says 3lt essex

You got the firing order right? Seem to remember the cylinder numbers aren't how you would expect them to be. (something like 1-3 drivers side then 4-6 passenger side- Check the book to see what I mean)

Thanks guys, firing order is what you said it moves round one if you know what I mean, will check it out tomorrow with the settings.
