Howdy,
OK, I got Capri 2.8i front struts (245 vented) with 5 stud billet hub conversions.
The calipers hit the hub as it's a lot thicker than stock. Already sent them back and had them trimmed back but the calipers still don't friggin go on.
I'm right outta cash so need to resolve this as economically as poss and put monster brakes on after the recession! :wanker:
I don't want to talk to the hub supplier again, just want to move on.
So having the hubs tweaked again (by them) aint an option.
Although there is still an awful lot of metal there.
The Tech question is what 'upgrade' will give the best braking?
I'm looking at swapping out the calipers for 4 pot W*lwoods.
They look slimmer and don't obviously have the single large central piston each side
(which the stock does and it's that that's hitting the hub)
OR
Get a large disk conversion to 280mm which retains the stock calipers and a simple bracket shifts the caliper out that extra 20mm
So, will 4 pot calipers on 245 discs OR 2 pot calipers on 280 discs (more leverage alledgedly) work better?
cheers
