Hi all...Lost a good deal in Tennesse couple of weeks back. Now got the bug, can anybody tell me if this is correct. I was looking at a 35' Dodge truck, now a 33'. If a car has the correct title i.e 33 Sedan, when the car lands here I pay 5% VAT, and as the car is propely titled i only need an MOT not SVA. ALso can anybody advise me of their good or bad experiences when shipping from the US. Regards M-H

Talk to Kingstown Shipping re bringing it back over. If a car is Pre 1950 the duty is 5%, but I think commercials (ie pick ups) might still be at 22% or so.
I'm sure someone will correct this, but Iknow trucks are different.

Thanks 53. Now looking at a Sedan. You are right about the VAT on commercials, i think the main thing i need to know is, if the car is properly titled, does it just require an MOT. Because the SVA would shit themselves at this car. Also good or bad experiences. Regards
