My apologies in advance, its my first time with a Holley carb, so I am learning as I go. I have this rod from the vac pump seems to be loose and waving about, what is it and where should it go? Nothing I have found seems to help online.

Hi Strop' that is only a length of rod or wire to hold the choke flap open. If you want a choke remove the rod and fit a choke cable. Ian
