I was a member of surrey street rodders for about 8 yrs+ and they have been going since 1974 (i think)...........toad
Think they were earlier than that Toad, I did the combined SSR and Southern Roadster Skewjack holidays back in about '74.

Southern Roadsters 1969 ( or was it 70 ) .

Chelmsford HotRod and Drag club were also of the same age.

With Tony and Pat Hines, and Micky Tong ?.....
The first two names don't ring any bells though I may remember their cars, Micky Tong had his Mk1 Escort & Mini vans, Frank "The diff" Fadden had a V6 highline Consul, John Brazil had Instantmotion, a Rover powered Mk3 Cortina, the Harris' with their Mk1s, John Russel had a Mk4 Zephyr called Rollerball then Sunset Boulevard. I used to get a bus with a mate from school to either the fire station or the Wheatsheaf at Thornton Heath, were you a member?

THE CHELMSFORD CLUBS 1ST ACTUAL MEET WAS ON THE 4TH OF MARCH 1968 AT THE COCK IN PUB BOREHAM, ALTHOUGH GOING BY THE EVENTS LIST BELOW THINGS HAD CLEARLY BEEN IN THE PLANNING STAGES A WHILE BEFORE THAT!!, I THINK I CAN SAY THAT THE CDSRC IS THE OLDEST BRITISH CLUB OF WHICH I AM PROUD TO BE A MEMBER.....

HERES AN EARLY CLOTH BADGE, THE CLUBS NAME WAS LATER CHANGED TO STREET ROD CLUB INSTEAD OF HOT ROD CLUB AS PEOPLE WERE CONFUSING WHAT WE NOW KNOW AS HOT RODS WITH THE LIKES OF THE TYPE OF HOT RODS DRIVEN ROUND BY BARRY LEE ETC ON CIRCUIT TRACKS.....

& A 68 EVENTS LIST, BUSY BUSY BUSY....

Coventry Custom Car Club
No logo at the moment but I've got an old show programme from Coombe Abbey somewhere

I do remember about 30 years ago  a R&S member giving his white 57 Chevy some stick out side Coventry swimming baths one cruise night

Now as a young lad who had just passed his test and out in his first car, it was a great site.

Now who drives a car like that !!! :p

Orwell Valley Cruisers here in ipswich mid sevnties

First split I think in 78 the vanners went off to form 'Insanity Vans' and later [80 something] folded and 'Acton Hot Rod Association' was formed by many of the members Its still going.

Orwell Valley name back with a few of the original memebers as of last year...
