I had to have a catheter about 12 years ago. Thankfully I was at 32,000 feet at the time, and remember nothing whatsoever about the experience. But the good lady Doris tells me that they struggled for quite some time to get it inserted, until a sister came along and managed it first time. Apparently the junior staff were all trying to use one that was too large. Fills me with absolutely no man pride .
Doris enjoys telling the story though.
