Hi, I built this 1956 Dodge pickup about 8 years ago. I found it in a shed in a small coastal town (Tokomaru Bay) on the East coast of the north island of New Zealand, when I was living in the city of Gisborne..
It had been sitting for 20 years when I got it. It was all original, but I transferred all the body work onto a Holden HQ ute chassis and running gear..
Hope you approve
I love trying to revive old threads that are cool!
Intheweedz, this is my 54 Dodge truck that I built up in 1998. It was used for getting firewood when I bought it so was fitted with a 4.44:1 XA Falcon LSD, HQ discs n calipers on the beam axle, TD Cortina buckets, 15 x 7 Sunraiser rims with 31's. Driving it was a 245 HEMI & B/W auto.
To get it like you see in the picture we did a HZ chassis graft, ditched the diff for a 3.23 from a CL Val wagon with its springs. I chucked the auto n put 3 on the floor in, cloth UC Torana seats, CL column & gauge cluster, VW locks, handles and regs into the doors and LTD 15 rims, 6inch up front 7 out back.
Really love the look of yours, especially the front guards without the big flare.
