Thanks MyGasser and Ivahoew.
One thing I haven't able to do is to fit the bootlid lock.

It looks simple, but the cam which pushes on the release of the lock has to be removed before key barrel pushes into boot lid. Then, with that area double skinned, I can't get access to attach it.
I tried Google but came up with nothing helpful.
Any suggestions folks?

the cam stays on mate, there's a little slot coming off the (bottom?) edge of the hole and you have to screw the cam plate in using that slot to gain the extra width of hole you need. the clip between the 'cam' and the gasket needs to be in place so once the cam is through you can click the lock assembly in place. it's fiddly for sure.

I agree, the cam stays on for sure. They gotta be the same as Escorts, but I haven't fitted one in a while. Click into place sounds familiar though. Is there maybe one of those springy washers with 3 legs that grip the shaft to slide on last and hold it all together?
I have no doubt that someone will know the proper name for said washer!!!!

Well thanks Guys for all the replies.... but I was a bit lost. Anyway, I found a way to fit it back on on, but then turning the key didn't pop the lock (at least I had the sense to try this before actually shutting the boot!!!
When I took it back off to see why it wasn't working I realised that part of the lock which should contact the cam was bent. So I tried to bend it back and..........



Yes you've guessed correctly - it broke!

Found one on ebay, but if anyone has one of these which I can buy on Sunday at swap meet, please let me know.
