My mate Jimbo's getting on with the rebuild of his Y. Ran it donkeys years ago with a ford v6 on the standard rad. This time round, its got a healthy sbc running about 475bhp. So, the question is, does anybody have any idea what a standard Y rad in good nick will cope with?

no idea but it aint going to cool that engine.

It'll handle a stock to mildy tuned sbc so about 250-300 (from experience).
It may handle more ,I'm presuming it's about 4 rows deep and around 8-10fpi ( fins per inch ) ?

Thanks for the replies guys. Its actually in good nick and yes about 8 rows per inch. Just thought we stick a neck on it and see what it'll do under a bit of pressure!
