Not really up to the standard of most of the cars on here with all their fabrication and or power as I'm a bolt on guy :p
Had ticked all my boxes but was due a refresh so pulled the motor in March.

Thanks to my buddy Phil K @ Classic American Restoration Services, as I don't have a garage.
Block had usual work done, heads refreshed and spent time cc'n chambers, int/ex ports, cleaning up the short turn etc;

After thinking of more power, as we do, and adding more spray decided to go dart block, even though had no signs of cap walk there are many pluses.
With the bigger bore/stroke upgraded heads which also ment new headers due to raised ports and larger primaries/ collectors for the cubes/spray.
TEA hp's but will have PAC spring upgrade

Staying h/r cam (custom) due to street use really. Probably from Bullet.
Induction is changing to SV efi with NX spray bar in plenum, accufab 90mm tb, Abaco 97mm maf, 60lb ev1 injectors.
Once it's been milled for port alignment will probably need some plenum/runner work to match head flow numbers.

Also have a progressive controller as my spray passes were a pedal fest at times.
Got a deal on some NX noids on eBay and as my boys in the US for 3 months they're being serviced at NX.

As anyone that knows me I really am on a budget so got used parts where poss, and without the help of Phil K @ C.A.R.S. could not have done this.
Engine 3/4 months away.
No great build thread just if your like me nice to know what's going on with the odd rwyb'er.
Hope this makes the old stick car a bit quicker and still drive it to the track.

Alright Sean, we at the Rotbox Rodders hq know what a great car this is,and you want to run quicker you must be bonkers as that is plenty quick in the tens.

So who is going to be the first Rotbox Rodder on the trophy this year?
cheers vin

Thanks, hope it picks up some. Was a bit of fun with the mild 358w spraying 130 shot.
Should be interesting banging gears with 427 cubes and 200 shot, nothing major but good fun and wanna see if I can achieve a 9.99 stick street yank.

Managed a couple of 1.40 60fts but always pedalled the passes.
In the 1.30s is another target. Only about 10 passes on new front setup, tube K, a arms, strange 10 ways, c/overs, Team Z c/c plates.

Also fitted a FAST dual wide band to data log a/f on runs.

Will add engine build pics once it's in assembly room.
Hope to keep it tidy like before but it's raced so no show car.

Too kind chaps
Got some good news, after reviewing the flow of my heads @ the possible lift of my cam which will be .600 region but under .700 my Super Vic may have been a bottle neck. A quick pm to T Moss who had done the port work on it (its 2nd hand but unmilled) and he reassued me it was ported to flow 363cfm so no further work needed  Saved me a bob or two.
Will get it blasted before install.

Crank is due in March, an RPM internal balance then assembly should begin, also ment new SFI flwheel & damper. Have custom Wiseco 2618 dish pistons.
351w with Highports into a fox Headers were $500, over $800 new. Used but not run, fitted on his Bronco. 2" primaries with 3.5" collector. gets me away from the usual 'pinched' at the neck ford headers that were 1 3/4".

Alledgedly they bolt in...which suits my skill level!
Use the diagonal patten, so should get the gas out better when spraying.

Hope so Dal. No christmas's just involved in a project that will cover engine cost. Most of my old engine is going in that.
Just had some more good news tonight.
Nitrous Express pressure tested/inspected my noids and all 3 good to go for $37.50 + shipping back to my son in California where his staying. New stickers too !
Good old eBay, also sold my old valve covers for £50 and got these fe style penthouse for £54 nib.
Baffled like me old ones so ok for my evac.

Sold my old intake, tb, maf, injectors, headers, flywheel and covered most of the cost of the replacements so wife's happy.
Only place not ecomising is long block parts and assembly.

coming on nicely mate, don`t know about you, but i prefer working on the engine more than any other part of the car!
Love the engine aspect but this ones being built from pan to intake by a sbf specialist. Far beyond me.
I've basically selected the combo/compression I want and works 'at least in the US'
Talked it thru with my builder, and together come up with a package.
He wasn't happy with the taper on the Probe slugs on a 4.125 bore, offered Mahle coated power paks but as I'm spraying want 2618 forged. Answer, he has Wiseco do custom slugs for him so upgraded to these at no cost.
Looking forward to pics when in assembly room.
Got me a good price from TEA on the heads, inclusive of PAC spring upgrade, titanium retainers.
Really had to bite the bullet on them, as knew header would be around $1000 bucks but kept hunting and found a deal on a set.
Could do with either a gear change (running 3.55) or 27" slick.
The 28" really held me back off spray and even on it had rpm to burn shifting @ 5700.
Looking around 6500 with 6800 now.
But like everyone else funds dictate how fast you go so will stick with em, plus can do the 70 mile drive to the pod 2k @ 60mph on 26.1" d/radial still.
Am I the only one that listens to every noise on the drive up? And if theres any new ones on the way back.
I'm very sympathetic to it on the street, never ever gunned it.
Funny how The more money I spend, the worse it drives, and the less I use it...guess that's drag racing!

You hear a noise and then think of that little film of oil between the bearings and the crank,HOW! and then yourmind goes mental.
