There I was , Cruising SLOWLY @ about 50mph , On the way back from meeting Billy F Gibbons @ the "
Goodwood Souped up Sunday " Breakfast monsoon -sorry - Breakfast meet , Freak Show developed a bit of a vibration like driving on rumble strips , I stopped and checked wheel nuts , suspension , steering etc - no obvious problem so carried on again ( slowly ! ) .....
then BANG ! Wobble , Graunch ......pulled onto grass verge with engine still running but no drive !
Looked underneath - FRONT off propshaft dug into mud ! WHEW ! 1st thought ..propshaft bolts had come undone , But when we got it back to the workshop .........well see the pix !
Bellhousing still bolted to block , but box completely SPLIT in 2 ! :sniff:

NOTE TO ME : Fit A Propshaft LOOP ! :shake:

Are the motor mounts solid & the trans mount rubber? (or the other way round?) could be motor moves & trans don't, thereby flexing trans case, which will split it just like that!

motor mounts could cause it,excess vibration,prop angle/lack of free spline causing end load when rear axle moves are also other possibilities:beuj:
