Does the facet petrol up have to be mounted in the upright posistion/thanks

According to the instructions, yes, you do have to mount them upright but i have seen and known many to be used horozontally with no apparant issues that i'm aware of.

(If you get cheesed off with it, carter do a very nice, quieter rotary vane pump.... dont ask :tup: ).

the bottom unscrews to access a cylindrical filter and a small magnet in the cap. so to keep the shit in the bottom it makes sense to mount it upright.
