Kev, how did the truck get through with that gnarly rad cap ornament...I thought cars had to be smoothed out and radii checked on just about every item....smooth switches...handles not sticking out etc..?

Correct ,but like I said it's all down to reading the manual Did you spot the amber side repeaters ,or amber front indicators ? There's more than one way to skin a cat / build a rod. Handles CAN stick out (withing regs ) same as hinges can, you can use louvres , outside exhausts and all manner of stuff that pub talk would have you believe can't be used . It's in the 'doing' and attention to detail. and is mostly a non cost option ie buy the right parts ...and that doesn't mean raiding a kit car catalogue either.

Pretty much the same as normal builds then Rod ? They COULD all look good Rod, as I've said it's about NOT picking up the kit car catalogue or making ill thought out decisions...or for that matter getting caught and having to redo doesn't help either

talking of reflective plates , why do mk 2 escort (and capri ) owners think it looks good to use black n silver plates on their cars , looks all wrong if you ask me , not to mention illegal

Interesting that this hot rod has no mudguards where the BIVA document says you must have them. I guess things changed after 2009. Shame, mudguards look pretty crappy on a hot rod.

EVERY car should have 'mudguards' to meet C&U ,silencers etc yet many don't and break the law over various other infringements . However they must be fitted at the time of BIVA.

It is updated roughly every 6 months Scottie. As you loo through you'll see details have changed with later dates. It's never rule changes just clarification of procedures or wording.
