Took the A in for a dual pipe set up today - I am presuming that everyone in the area knows these guys but if not you won't go far wrong with them - superb craftsman, and great value.

01268 285535 is their number and Dean is the Gaffer.

Several people recommended this place to me so I went there and I am really not impressed with the work. I shall call them tomorrow to see if they can rectify the problem but I am a 120 mile drive away , in a gas guzzling v8 so really a bit peeved.

Used pipecraft a few years back when I had the blown 36 coupe, the neighbours complained like hell about the noise it made, so went there for a couple of custom made silencers, very well made and done the job.

I've had plenty of systems done by them over many years and at both locations. Always top quality work. Systems were nicely bent, well hung and well finished. Have also had exhaust work done by Anton at APD Automotive which was top quality. When I looked at a system that a mate had done by a rodshop not too long ago I fell on the floor laughing.

That reminded me of a job i did a couple of years ago.id booked a car in for one day to do some alterations and to swap out the back end of an exhaust.

Never met the bloke befor so told him what it would cost and that he would need to help for the day.

Halfway doing the exhaust mid afternoon, the bloke says he didnt bring enough money.it turned out he didnt bring enough money to cover my pre arranged labour bill, let alone the exhaust bends needed.

He daid he thought he could come back another time to pay me. How does that work.

After a slightly embarrassing conversation,he had to go to a cash point to get the money so i would release his car.

So halfway through a nice tig welded exhaust ,that went away and the mig came out.the rear of the exhaust was promptly bodged together and the said customer fucked off.

Somethings are never as they seam

Did he not do his homework.

With everything online now,you should be able to see any rod shops work, close up and in detail.

My point was you dont need to go to someone who just specialises in exhausts to get an exhaust done.

As this is a predominantly a rod site, its not wrong to promote and support youre local rod shop, that is if you have one

Exactly, i've just finished a 100e that came in for a bunch of odd jobs,
To build an exhaust was added after it arrived.
