I started back halving a B a while back but my heart wasn't in it. I wanted a Moggy (as always). I did have some pics sent through of a tubbed B on the british V8 website, I'll see if I can dig them out
I thought about offering to buy back ( and Bob had thought about selling some time ago) but I am now more enthused about the Pro Street evolution of the concept. It may not even make it to the street though - garage candy "Show" car - but it will do RWYB!
I suspect it will have some aspects of modern Carbon fibre look to it.
Thanks Lee and Fozwanger.
As Vin says I will keep it all on this thread
- and here is my rusty BGT shell and, at the front, is a rusty 1275 cross member.
The reason I have wanted that cross member is five-fold :-
- it has a narrower track than the B so I can get the front down Low
- it keeps it as much MG as possible
- it is quite light
- it keeps all the factory geometry
- it provides steering, brakes and suspension all in one unit.
Thanks Ifan - nice 300E you have - but what progress on the Escort?
I am still adding to my pile of bits and now have a good BGT dashboard. However I still looking for a Rover V8 5 speed bell housing (or one with a gearbox).
thank you phil, the escort is on the back burner for a moment as the owner is trying to get other things out the way. but i can asure you its not forgoten about and the plans he's got for it are going to make heads turn
Hi DC Tim and Foz
As I said earlier I have been contacted by Bob Owen and he has now sent some pictures of the car - and it is even more Awesome!
Externally repainted and altered around the front end - with the new TVR engine which is heavily modified with Lots of Nitrous! The inside has been totally reworked.
It ran low 11's with No Gas when last out (--------- but it may be moving on...... apparantly..........)
