Anyone know how the new mot regulations are applied to Mazda RX8s and new Mini clubmans, both of which come as standard with rear doors (or door in case of the mini) with no handles.

thats a good question... would the small door be classed as a rear door? i think of it more as a side door not a rear door. the rear door to me would be the ones on the back of the car. bmw say the little door is a clubdoor whatever that means...

According to the manual, it's not an issue...

The inspection of doors does not apply if no driver’s or front passenger’s doors were fitted as part of the original design of the vehicle.

A lack of door handles because of original design characteristics or specialist modification is not a Reason for Rejection provided the door can be latched securely in the closed position.

Passenger doors: If the door aperture has been permanently ‘filled’ as part of a specialised customisation provided that there are no obvious aperture gaps.

So far as the seat adjustment goes, If it's fitted, it must work, if it isn't then it can't be tested.

My only advice would be to present vehicle for testing coz most of the testers that have worked for me don't know all the rules and vosa always tell us to "pass and advse"
