Hi,anyone used the original Rhoads lifters, especially on a standard cam?I have a new set. ,and since I have taken the heads off my 302 I am in a position to fit them. They seem like a good idea, since one of my lifters is noisy and I could possibly gain some performance albeit small ?

The idea of Rhoads lifters is to 'tame' a wilder cam to give a more reasonable idle. As such they would lose you performance rather than gain it. Also they are ticky in operation as well anyway ;)

Rhoades bleed down at lower rpm, making a long duration cam appear smaller..no place at all on a stock camshaft,,as stated you would loose power at the bottom of the rpm range and gain nothing up high

i'll second the noisyness of them at lower revs, although they do 'exactly what it says on the tin' and tame a 'too much' cam for better driveability at lower revs.
