Hi There,

No, it's not an ultrabell.
You can just see the top of it in the second photo above.
It's a 1" thick bit of machined ally billet bolted up to the Rover block on one side, with all the correct holes and steel location dowels for the TH400 on the other.

Not sure of it's origin, but I'm told Real Steel did them a few years back, so could be one of theirs.

Cheers.

Do you want to sell it as a complete package or are you willing to split it?
I could be interested in the adapter plate, flex plate, spiggot bush and the backplate to block bolts at the right price?

Coventry is only a short drive from me too.

Cheers,

JC.

Hi there,

Yes - it is the combo out of "Born to Run"!!
It was me that contacted you recently to verify a few of the details.

It would be superb to see the car back reunited with it's motor, do you have the guys contact details who has the car now? please PM them to me.

I think this is the engine and transmission combo out of my old Pop , "Born to Run".

Only this week the guy that now owns the car has been in touch , it would be good to see the car and motor back together:cool:

Hi Alistair,

No, it's full manual shifting.
Some manual valve bodies do still shift automatically if you select Drive, but not this one.

It's reverse pattern too, so it goes:
PARK > R > N > 1 > 2 > 3

This setup is best for drag racing, as it sits in the gear indefinitely until the shift light prompts you to select the next one.

Cheers,
MATT...

dumb question: does it still shift automatically with the manual valve body?
