yes a decent dual plane manifold will help with the Rover odd induction pulses. While you're ordering it, get the secondary metering block, blue nitrile float bowl gaskets and vac secondary spring kit for the carb. These will help you properly tune it and take out any flatspots.
as above, we found with a modded rover manifold the engine ran out of steam towards the top fo the rpm range, just don't think it could flow what a 390 had to offer, the edelbrock was a great improvement
